Our Story

Established in 2021 by a group of friends craving connected queer events, Methow Pride was once a pride festival. Now it is a collection of year-round events, community spaces, and resources for queer thriving.

Methow Pride fosters rural connection, belonging, and thriving for LGBTQIA+ beings in the Methow Valley through queer community building programs, valley-wide education, and celebratory events.

Mission

Vision

A Methow Valley where LGBTQIA+ people are present, safe, alive, and thriving.

A community of rural belonging where LGBTQIA+ folks feel affirmed, free to be fully themselves, and meaningfully connected to other queer people across generations.

Desired Impact

The Methow Valley is a rural, 1.1 million-acre valley near the Canadian border in north-central Washington home to 6,300+ people. It is also home to hundreds of non-human residents, including fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, bees, and 1,700 species of native plants. The area nurtures a historic and growing network of queer people who are cultivating models for a thriving rural queer life.
